Well, over time the same ideas get recycled, so it's natural to listen to something from that long ago and kind of have a meh reaction, because on a sub concious level you feel as if you're already familiar with a lot of the elements.

That's true but I don't wanna go on the Blonde on Blonde Sputnik page and give it a 3.0 or something Ya know. Listening to 'classic' music from a different generation to you can be kind of like listening to an acclaimed album from a genre you dislike... just because you appreciate and understand why it's so acclaimed doesn't mean you're gonna be able to enjoy it as much as the kind of stuff you usually choose to listen to

You should all listen to Blood on the Tracks (Dylan album), it's his best and it's about as emotional as Elliott but not in the occasionally irritating, self pitying way that Elliott is.
