The Dissentience is kickass. I feel like that and Bloodmeat are the only two tracks that really hold roots in Kezia, the rest being noticeably different.

The Dissentience is basically the best song, well Bloodmeat is the best, but they are practically identical in terms of greatness.

Each track has at least one part that is awesome/epic/boner-inspiring...the only two songs that keep this from a 5 is Spoils is weak and gagged is a little too underwhelming for a closer...otherwise a pretty flawless album.

Alright, here's a go at it:

1. The Dissentience

2. Bone Marrow

3. Bloodmeat

4. Palms Read

5. Goddess Gagged

6. Spoils

7. Wretch

8. Goddess Bound

9. Limb From Limb

10. Sequoia Throne

I had to think harder about that list than I did in anything in class today.

As if you pegged Limb From Limb and Sequoia Throne as numbers 9 and 10. Those songs are funkin' awesome! If not Sequoia, at least Limb From Limb should be bumped up a little higher!

Then again, you are not me and everyone has their reasons for liking the songs that they do.

I like all the songs. Just because those are at the bottom don't mean I dont enjoy listening to them. They just don't grab me as much as the rest to be honest.

dirtsanchez...didnt you say something to the point of "the songs go everywhere but one direction" or something to that effect on another thread...

Goddess Bound is wicked, I don't mind Goddess Gagged but it could be so much more. I do enjoy the end and how it truly leaves you wanting more.

Everytime I listen to Spoils, I feel I should go on some sort of quest...

I said "They put in all these inluences and it's going absolutely nowhere". Yes, but that was when I was on the BtBaM wave. When I actually got the time to listen to this, that was another story.

I might be one of few, but I think Goddess Gagged is an excellent closer (Just got Kezia so I can't say which one is the better). Rody's vocals in the verses are just too good; that one part where he goes overdrive puts a big smile on my face.

Btw aren't Bound and Gagged supposed to be one song split up in two anyways?

There's a gap in between so at least i count them as separate. I love Protest the Hero because they are one of those bands that if a song of theirs is on, i will enjoy it.

Even the songs i like least (Spoils and especially A Plateful of Our Dead) are still solid listens. They are just underwhelming to me, but they are like smaller pieces of cookie dough compared to the bigger ones in the delicious hot fudge sunday smothered in whipped cream, cherries, sprinkes, and decapitated goddesses

Looking towards their future, i believe they will incorporate a lot more growling on the next album. What with Rody's voice being all messed up and such. I definitely welcome it and hope there's a lot more on future releases.

Goddess Gagged is the best on Fortress. Sequoia Throne is excellent as well.

Rody's voice isn't messed up, he just blew it out on tour. It happens when you're playing shows every night. He's never, ever going to stop singing.
