"some solid raps"
Some. His rhyming caliber seems seems so much worse though. He's still doing the same ol' tricks except he's lacking the genius of it that he had on SS and MM.

never thought of it that way.

he needs someone to take away all his money and give him a reason to rhyme again

Seems to be the same house as the one on mmlp 1. I don't know what to think anymore. Same blonde hair, same cover, same name. What are his intentions?

oh i always thought mmlp1 was the back of the cabin
|
| |
i always thought it was the house he grew up in, or at least symbolic of that.
|
| |
He wouldn't sit in front of a house on an album cover if it wasn't the one he grew up in

Yeah album cover for MMLP rules, too bad album won't.

"I don't know what to think anymore. Same blonde hair, same cover, same name. What are his intentions?"
What do you mean you don't know what to think anymore? He's using all the superficial things he can to relate this album back to the biggest album of his career so that it makes more money, and the album is going to blow. No confusion for me.

Yeah I can see that. I want to believe that he cares about his rapping, and that recovery just was a forced attempt to gain the
validation he didn't get from Relapse (didn't Recovery win a grammy?). Surely he is smart enough to realize that the
superficial things from MMLP isn't what made it such a success? I'm hoping he actually has some kind of great introspective
music up his sleeve but I will probably just be very disappoibted.

Have you not heard the single he released? Might very well be the worst song of his career

Sure but to me, Recovery was a genuine response to Relapse's reception. With all the apologies for relapse and encore throughout the album and the persistent "serious"ness on the album with pretty much no exception, I really think that he believes that the "i'm so serious" vibe is his best bet at this point, and I think it will show on MMLP2.
He's going to try to use the shady persona again, sure. And that would ordinarily be a good thing because it was blatantly missing from Recovery, but the whole re-bleaching his hair and doing every shallow thing he can to re-capture MMLP1, coupled with "Berzerk", just makes it so clear to me that he has no idea what he's doing. After how contrived Recovery was, I just don't think there's any way he'll be able to naturally slip back into what made this album amazing, or really even come close.

If Berzerk is an indication, the album won't be anywhere near as dark as the album cover suggests
(Album cover is actual real neat, I dig)
But I'm hoping Berzerk is just that one obligatory goofy/eccentric he has vomit out in all of his
albums (Except for Recovery) and the rest will be less like that, I'm fine if he can't make anymore
funny songs if he can still kill in the serious ones
