i listened to that nik nocturnal interview with oli and the goal of the re-recording was to make it as identical as possible to the original, just with cleaner performances. even the production is supposed to sound like 2006, just a bit higher end than what they could afford back then.
there will be zero modern bmth-isms.

That's a little disappointing, frankly. But at least there will be one more song to jam.

I'm convinced normal screams can do the same.

That is actually the best fuckin news. If it was going to be a bunch of rEiMaGiNeD versions I probably wouldn't have even bothered with it.

It's such a 50/50 - on the one hand you get purists who want the original thing but just rerecorded as close as possible (Artist in the Ambulance), or on the other you get modernists who want the original thing but reimagined in a whole new light based off the band's current output.
There's really no making everyone happy with rerecorded albums haha

To the point. Take Meshuggah's blue Nothing (no fundamental stylistic changes but that's not the point). One person will tell you it's an upgrade and another will tell you it got neutered, no way around that.
Personally, I'd prefer this to be reimagined. The stricte deathcore CYB already exists and that's enough. But hey, at least we get a new track.

I used to abhor this with a passion - nowadays, I can listen to this and enjoy it for what it's worth which is basically a TBDM-inspired British deathcore band.
