Revisiting this album after a couple years. I enjoy the listen but is Jacob Bannon actually screaming lyrics on this album or is he just shrieking nonsense and writing lyrics down after?

In subsequent albums if you read the lyrics as he's screaming, they line up more. Before today I never really tried with Jane Doe, but I tried to follow along and not a hell of a lot was decipherable at all. Love the sound it makes regardless haha

To me it wouldn’t matter, for ages I didn’t even know what they were... maybe it helped with the staying power eventually but it’d still be a 5 regardless of the lyrical content.

Bannon said that what he did in the studio wasn’t 100% in line with the released lyrics. That’s why the lyrics in the booklet are kind of a jumbled mess, that’s how he performed them in the studio. Kinda abstract I guess
