I actually slightly prefer Toxicity, because it maintains a lot of the s/t's wackiness while reining it in with more somber, emotionally gripping moments. It's a perfect balance for me. But either way, both albums are absolutely legendary; SOAD never came close to the first two records again imo

The singles from Toxicity got so much radio play that I never want to hear them ever again. This album is creepier and more consistent. Also it has Suggestions

True, but I think they work a lot better in the context of the album. One of Toxicity's best aspects is that its tracklist flows so damn well, so even the overplayed singles mesh really well with the deep cuts

I kind of agree, but damn, I've just seen those music videos so many times. You couldn't get away from them, they got played everywhere

Deer Dance is also the best song ever so Toxicity has that going for it

Toxicity also has Aerials, which is more than just a song as corny as that sounds.

Never really liked Aerials that much. Also it rubbed me the wrong way how Holy Mountains felt like the same song recycled. I dug that one more though cause it wasn't played over and over. Deer Dance is definitely top 3 on Toxicity

I still hold this to be their best album. The run from Know to War? is insanity.

I used to absolutely destroy the shit outta toxicity, mostly several select songs and out of order but damn, I like this album better. It's heavier, darker, more psychotic and full of negativity, grittier and overall a gem

still no idea why people call this alt metal band nu metal, it just doesn't have that kind of vibes. Also I think it's better than anything bands like Korn or Linkin Park ever put out by a mile

"still no idea why people call this alt metal band nu metal"

Both terms are pretty broad but I feel like alt metal is an even worse descriptor. I have no idea what a band would sound like if someone tells me they're alt metal. Nu metal I can get an idea but yeah it's a pretty broad "genre."
