Dont get me wrong, Burn is awesome and I think its actually closer to the 3 Mk. II classics than H&H is to the first 6 Sabbath.

We got a deal man ;).

I also think DP's s/t is quite underrated too.

My favorite of DP's MKI is the debut, I mean, Hush dude, HUSH!
NAA, NANANA, NANANA NANA NAAA

I REALLY need to listen to more DP. I've only heard Machine Head and In Rock.

Check Fireball next. You should eventually check Made in Japan as well, essential live album.

Fireball is pretty much as good as those two

Nero, am I the only one who thinks Sabbath sounded much better in the studio than DP?
DP does sound killer live tho.

Yeah they were much better live than in the studio

MiJ just has a charm, a magic that DP just couldn't quite deliver on studio. Took me forever to see that.

^yeah MiJ is like the best live album ever. In Rock has kinda muddy production compared to Sabbath or Zeppelin, though I do think Machine Head delivers on all fronts.

I think In Rock sounds better with a rough production
|

In Rock has great production. The rawness suits the music perfectly.

machine head's production's a little lacking if you ask me, bit thin and the mix is weak
not terrible but could be better
|
| |
Yeah I prefer the production on In Rock and Fireball. Machine Head still sounds decent though imo.

in rocks sounds meaty as fuck yea, especially the organ
|
| |
Also Space Truckin' live > studio version
I think the live version hits a lot harder as a closer.
Gonna go bump MiJ.
|
| |
There's like 15 mins worth of extra music in the live (Made in Japan) version, the song was basically just used as a vehicle for their live jamming/improve.

Space Truckin' live > studio version [2] by a hell of a lot.

Every track is better than its studio counter part, well don't know about Child in Time, Blackmore never played the beginning of the solo like in the studio version, and that's probably my favorite part of the song
