I thought his Christmas album was a slight let down believe it or not

But it's worth a go if you're trying to get into the spirit

I listened through Silver & Gold earlier today, it can get repetitive at times but I really liked his take on the covers, keeping enough of the soul of the original intact but adding a good bit of Sufjan to each track.

I'm not a big enough sufjan fanboy to be let down by it really, and I'm already in the spirit :D

Silver and Gold is the best Christmas album out there next to the Bad Religion one

Sleater-Kinney just played a cover of The Ramones' "Merry Christmas (I Don't Want To Fight Tonight)" live and that's all the Christmas music i need for this year

I just met this girl who was karaokeing christmas music all night so someone must like it

Anyway one of my best friends is a huge sufjan stevens fan and he wasn't even aware of this album lmao. I'm assuming most people that were a big fan of his old stuff would dig this?

It's hard for me to say because I think anyone at all would dig this regardless

But yeah, those who enjoyed his more hushed, concentrated roots should theoretically find this attractive as well

agreed this is pretty nice. it's such a subtle album that it's easy to forget how enjoyable it is unless you're listening to it

I love this but to call it pretty nice... there is pretty much nothing nice about it, unless you find sadness nice.

I think you can describe it as nice, think of it as a pleasant eulogy and reminiscing about the good times you had with your loved ones.
