yeah ns doof i'd take chino's sensual crooning over maynards obnoxious bellowing any day of the week, especially on an album like this

I really think Maynard is perfect for the song. Like, Chino's vocals wouldn't make the chorus of passenger work nearly as well.

And when it comes to tones guest features, serj drags down mein, but annie hardy is freakin perfect for pink cellphone, but i seem to be in the minority of people who actually like that song

Oh don't get me wrong Maynard is a different league to Serj in the guest stakes

I prefer the guest vocals in Knife Party so I'm not totally opposed to a guest feature but I'd prefer a repeated feature on the same album so it feels connected. Having Maynard (or Serj) just feels like 'you may know me from such hits as...'. Incongruous for me.

I wouldnt mind pink cellphone if it wasn't for that last godforsaken minute. Im indifferent in how i feel about Serj on Mein because I dont feel that it's a particularly strong track to begin with, it feels too hastily put together (which it probably was). I actually liked Cantrells input on Phantom Bride even if it felt slightly out of place in the context of the album, and I think Cavalera injects his aggression into Headup to make it arguably the heaviest deftones track but still sorta underutilized.

Thats all the guest features they've had as far as I know. None of them have really blown me away, except for Knife Party where Rodleen Getsic's operatic screaming elevates it to a whole new level (of confidence and power)

true maynard is obnoxious and bellowy but i'd rather have him sing those specific parts than chino (or most others). chino nails his part no problemo

SNW destroys all to be honest.

It was just such a hypnotizing listen for me for 3 weeks. It was like an early morning routine where I'd put it on, on my way to school and just get mesmerized.

I don't feel quite the same magic anymore, but I can't expect to. Still an amazing album.

Weird, I think Maynard compliments the song pretty well. Easily one of my favorites off here.
