Well it wasn't coined by the artists themselves and most of them reject the label so it's far from pretentious.

Yeah like I said the ‘intelligent’ descriptor is rather elitist, ha. As Ghandi says it is often rejected by artists for this reason. I used to think it simply meant ‘instrumental’ (which it regularly is I suppose).
