yeah actually writing music just so it fits into a genre seems so contrived.

Bastard has so many emotional climaxes it's almost too much to take, fucking beautiful song

My favorite too, it's the song that got me in to Devin's solo work.

The whole midsection is just spine-tingling honestly; the vast, brooding riffs and the tempo changes signalled by Dev's heartfelt screams are just like unabated explosions of emotion, it's the most beautiful stuff I've ever heard

I agree but bastard is clearly the best and things beyond things is sort of the poo in the punchbowl for me it just seems a bit tacky

I was exaggerating a bit but that's a song I can just listen to three times in a row and not get bored - and those are pretty rare

Hide Nowhere is weaker than most here I'd say... not really saying much but still. Funeral/Bastard/DOM is best song and yes they deserve to be counted as one

Depends what you're looking for - for me Hide Nowhere has more ideas and melodies in its five minutes than those three closing songs put together but they do build a great atmosphere
The last 30 seconds of Hide Nowhere are my favourite of the album - "yaaaaaaaah" and the best riff on the album

I would like at this point to bring up Voices in the Fan. So underrated. The outro is perfect.

Don't know how you could possibly think that. It is an amazing song though
Voices has the best atmosphere agreed

Greetings is a sick track - clearly that style inspired Misery Signals' Controller album too (which dev produced ofcourse). Regulator is also fucking dope. I think weve gone through just about the entire album between us lets just all agree its an album for the ages

I never really realised it before, but there's a massive Peter Gabriel influence on the second half of the album.
