Dude. Cutting the Ties is my favorite here probably. Are we the same person?? 🤝🏻 🤜🏻🤛🏻

I have the weirdest gripe though. The song itself is incredible and the lead work is phenomenal. I cannot stand the outro 🤣

The lead riff the last 45 seconds or so is so cheese ball I feel like it completely kills the vibe of the song lol

Never understood how this album was so swept under the rug. Title track is one of the best things they ever wrote

Nah I agree. I get what they were going for with a positive triumphant ending, but it should've ended on the breakdown for sure.

Metalcore was still getting maligned on this site when this dropped, especially popular bands. There were some real ABR haters around back then. This was just more of the same to them so it got thrown into the "metalcore is a stagnant cesspool" pile.

Dudes. So true. Like sometimes I see positive metalcore feedback here and I get whiplash from all the years of people being like “this genre sucks and should die, breakdowns are embarrassing, this genre won’t be around in 5 more years, why do you like this shitty music” etc etc

Yeah, there was so much hate on this site back in the day. Also insane seeing how much slurs and swearing used to be on this site. Glad most of those users are gone, hope they have improved their behavior lol.

Damn first time hearing this and it slaps! This is around the time I dropped off of metalcore but I’ve been returning to lately and this record along with the other records from this band are so much fun!! I especially like the variety on this. Excited to hear more! Based on recent comments I’m assuming this album is rated low due to opinions at the time that dominated to average rating.

"August Burns Red as August Burns Red in Leveler."

"August Burns Red is back with more of the same"

I'm starting to think the only stagnant thing around here was the writing

Yeah I never understood the divisive reception for this one. Some of their all time strongest material is on this album. Salt & Light in particular is probably my fav ABR song
