Am I right in saying that this was a pretty influential band and there have been dozens of copy-cats that sound basically same but worse?

I wouldn't know them by name, but it just feels like a very generic alt-pop-rock sound dominates most of this, the kind I would hear on the radio a hundred times over. I get that a lot of these songs were radio hits too, though so idk. I don't listen to this kind of music much so I might be saying nonsense lol

it's typical alt rock yeah but no one has done it better than this album which is why it's so special

i usually just sort of T.E.B. as being part of the Sugar Ray etc movement of quick, really catchy pop songs that pretty much defined late 90s radio

never thought of TEB as getting notoriously bitten off or anything but maybe i just didn't hear too much of the bands you're talking about

Well I like this a little better on second listen. I have to admit I really don't like the vocals for the most part, though.

"Exactly five songs in a row that get played all the time where I live (D.C. metro area). Can't think of many albums that come close to achieving that level of airwaves dominance so long after they're released."

Tears For Fears' Songs from the Big Chair immediately comes to my mind. Wish I heard as much songs from this album as you do tbh, I only ever hear Jumper

Everyone talking about how popular these songs are is weird. Before listening to this album the only song from it I heard was Jumper and that was through Yes Man.

if you haven't heard Semi-Charmed Life & Jumper before hearing this actual record you were either born after 1997 or just didn't go outside/turn on a radio/wake up that much
