Better than anything AVA have done imo.
Playing total devil's advocate here but if Mark and Travis kept the Blink name and had released this instead of California people would still hate on it even though it's really good in places.

i do wish this had the blink name tho bc then it'd be played live (and the album title nine would make sense lol) and even more wish this was when skiba had joined since this was probably the period of time where blink and trio had the most creative overlap (blink off of untitled/alk3 off of crimson), and maybe if matt had joined then we would've gotten more albums of ittc caliber instead of the agony-my shame run of diminishing returns

This has aged really well and is probably my favorite album with Mark. Such a great relationship break up album. Weatherman, No, It Isnt, and Chapter 13 ftw.

True first half has some really great songs too. Havent heard AvA in a long time but this seems far a head of most of their work, at least looking back.

yeah that's true, but i always liked Alkaline Trio more. put the 20 best blink songs vs the 20 best alkaline trio songs and i'll probably prefer 18 alkaline trio songs to 2 blink songs.

I'm not huge on Alkaline Trio, but I did give their s/t compilation a 4/5. It fucking rules, I would suggest you check it if you haven't heard it.
Also, I revisited this a couple months ago on a nostalgia binge and enjoyed it more at the time than I ever did when it came out. Blink certainly hasn't put out anything near this good since their own s/t.
