It is beyond appalling that people enjoy something less than others.

Thanks, trustxdialect for the vote of confidence. =D
I'm going to give this album a few more listens and I'll get back to all of you if my opinion of it improves. I will say that, as much as I don't enjoy this album, "Grim Heart/Black Rose" is without question an impressive cut.

I just wish people would leave the record alone quite frankly. Converge is an aquired taste and to make this your first Converge album is a little much.

I made this my first Converge album, and though it took me a couple listens to finally understand it, I liked it. I think I may like it more than Jane Doe, but I'm not really sure if I can judge that yet, as I've only listened to that 2 or 3 times so far.

Jane Doe really does grow on you - you will be listening to it and it will just click.
To the Lions is a really awesome way to close the album I think - I also agree with the reviewer on just how good Trophy Scars is.

This was my first Converge album.

'To the Lions' is a great track except it finishes to early. I reckon Ballou could of extended the lead at the end instead of fading out but whatev, still a great track.

So Plagues is pretty much the most ass kicking song ever. What's awesome about this album, is that there is not a single bad track on it. God Converge just rawks so much

I'm probably going to buy Jane Doe. From what I've heard, it's infinitely better.

Yeah. Most of my favorite Converge tracks are on Jane Doe. It's a bit sludgier at moments, but overall Jane Doe is a complete ass-kicking album (sans the title track, completely overrated).

Every human being on the planet agrees that Jane Doe is Converge's best work, so I'm going to listen to that one as well. From what I've heard, it sounds like I'll enjoy that a HELL of a lot more than I did No Heroes. Things I've read indicate that it should mesh more with my personal aesthetic.
I've been considering listening to No Heroes enough to fully review it; yay or nay?

I say nay due to the fact that there is already one negative review that pleads it's case on this CD. But do as you please.

To be honest, Iai's review isn't that great. It's like a shorter version of my review of that Prussian Blue CD - it doesn't really say much other than "God I hate this CD a lot". Plus, my opinion can change between here and then, but I do get where you're coming from, though.

Spectrum, considering your sound off is completely off base in terms of actual facts rather than opinion, I don't think you should write a full review.
You'd just make a fool of yourself.

The title track is not overrated - at all.

I downloaded this. Haven't listened to it. Usually this stuff isn't my cup of tea but really want to know what the fuss is about.
Cheers.

i sort of lost interest in these guys but after getting a couple of their older stuff, i started to gain my interest back. i listened to this album again and i remembered why i liked it so much, so in a few days i might rate this album higher, still nothing comes close to jane doe
