Seasons In The Abyss is in my opinion the last real classic Slayer record and also one of my favourites. The best tracks here are War Ensemble, Blood Red, Expendable Youth, Skeletons Of Society and specially Seasons In The Abyss and the thrash anthem Dead Skin Mask.
An absolute classic.

I believe the idea at the time was to have a more raw production than the previous more clean (and excellent IMO) SoH.

I actually prefer this to 'Reign in Blood' and 'South of Heaven'. This album seemed to have their most 'experimental' songs, and the title track is one hell of a beast.
