This is so much better, can't believe his vocals sound this good 20 years later

jrlikestodance I know that now, except for years I only listened to all those "elite but less liked in the mainstream" bands like the red chord, glass casket or the contortionist, meanwhile there were so many popular ones that were quite palatable from day one
and I know all about antagony etc

Dehumanized is one of the best songs they've ever written [2]

I did listen to dehumanized and it's a really well written song agreed

Never could get into these guys much in general, but the original debut is a solid 3 for me. Maybe I should try out Sempiternal. Seems the album most people agree is their peak.

I don't get the hype for Semp at all. CYB remains my favorite

It's the best one by a mile that I've heard so far. I've also listened to There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It... and POST HUMAN: NeX GEn and thought they were both awful.

suicide season will always be their best to me. a really unique mix of their early deathcore transitioning to more melodic focused post-hardcore.

I like about half the Suicide Season songs, but those songs are easily among their best material

worst thing you can do is fall for the negative hype that these guys are some lame-ass crabcore like attack attack or something, I know there used to be quite a bit of press like that going around

The highlights off Suicide Season through Sempiternal + the entire Survival Horror EP reflect the best of this band in my opinion. Dehumanized slaps too, and I'd be curious to see if they can take the sound of something as heavy as that and expand it into another fairly commercially successful LP.
