Just put GUTS on and right from the outset, All-American Bitch has so much more energy and is way more dynamic sound-wise than the opener here

Credit where it's due: GUTS had some bangers and the opener is one of them. Really like 'Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl' as well.

GUTS had some bangers [2]
I think GUTS had those in near-perfect success rate (opener/bad idea right?/ballad of a homeschooled girl) but the ballads were quite hit-or-miss. On this new album, though, she makes every second of the slower songs count and that's what elevates it for me.

Agree.. Now she just need a more balanced album, even though this one just get higher score for how it made me feels (about my lost)
I still think I prefer GUTS to some extent

"Also how is The Cure not your highlight . It is the best song of the album"
great song obv but its like the "hard feelings" of this album. essential centerpiece that ties the whole thing together but its not really the bop the others are
also really sorry to hear that munsu, hope you're doing alright

Wasn't expecting this to live up to the hype, but I do find it to be really good. "Maggots for Brains," "What's Wrong With Me" and "Drop Dead" are the standouts for me so far. For listening to an entire album from her for the first time, I'm very impressed.

@GreyShadow - if both songs weren't drop dead gorgeous I would agree lol
But I'm super happy this album was well received on Sput. It's honestly shaping up to be one of my favorites of the whole decade. It's one of only four albums I've 5'd so far.

I don’t know that I’d cut anything tbh, and yeah the sequencing is pretty flawless. Really takes you through a whole ass relationship.

I don’t see myself going above a 4 here but for a pop record that’s damn good. I don’t think I have any pop albums about that aside from the last two Billie Eilish ones, which are really due for another listen by now anyways.

Newest Billie Eilish is so amazing too.

Yeah I fucking loved that one man. Tbh both that and Happier Than Ever were so unexpected for me. I dug her very first album (and the EP) but those two newer ones are such a big step up, especially Hit Me Hard And Soft. She seems so much more confident on that record.

I didn't like her first at all, but man, her past two are both fantastic, especially HMHAS.
