Oh btw @Feather I've listened to some Holy Blade and it's pretty good. Something about their music feels a bit thin (idk maybe the production or the singer(s?)) but it's good shit. Very AFI coded.

This is turning out to be just plain fun. It’s great music to consistently die to in Crash Bandicoot.

@blaze glad you at least enjoyed it a bit!I feel the criticism. Could be a low budget production issue. Regardless, I think it’s the closest I have heard to something that sounds 1999 AFI I have ever heard

Yeah I'd agree. I've heard some Calabrese songs that nail the vibe but extra spooky boi misfitsy. There was this other band, if I remember I'll let you know. They're not on spotify so unfortunately it helped me forget. Looking forward to more Holy Sword. I'm happy that I'm finally stoked on new afi again tho. Comeback kids first album kinda gives shut your mouth vibes.

Was bummed that I was out of town when they played chicago ~1-2 weeks back. Love seeing them. Songs that I was hyped to see on the Chicago setlist:
Miseria Cantare - The Beginning
Aurelia
Malleus Maleficarum
File 13
The Leaving Song

Holy shit, boston got Now the World straight into This Time Imperfect.. I would die. They really switch up their setlist every damn day. It is so impressive.

i have such respect for bands doing that and i feel like it only works with bands that have been around for as long as they have with the same lineup.
them playing Miseria Cantare is fucking wild. all of those are crazy picks the fomo for me not going tomorrow cuz of work is gonna hurt by god, ive been driving 1-2 hours for so many shows, i think i need a break anyway. going wednesday and thankfully i'll already be in NYC for work!

last night we got Ny-quil lmfao which i wasnt even sure i knew until the chorus.
Ever and A Day, Bleed Black (i freaked out lmao), This Celluloid Dream, and The Despair Factor which i FINALLY saw for the first time. Davey got in my face directly for WHEN I FALLLLLLL it was awesome.
i love how he confirmed in the podcast "if you are singing and i am singing at you, i am definitely noticing you". im glad i know at least 75% of their lyrics and can fake about 20% lmao

This is definitely a grower. It's like Future Islands vocals meets The Cure instrumentation
