People say that about every new band at this point as if that means anything or says anything about the music.
i've heard it said about Black Midi and BCNR as well. It's just a lazy way to write off a band.
Yet at the same time you're 5ing Godspeed You Black Emperor which you easily could say the same about.

The absolute chokehold Cameron’s vocals had on me in 2025 I will remember forever. Been a while since I’ve been so obsessed in a vocal performance

I link them together because of the repellent vocals and the fact they are all completely unlistenable.
They seem to have similar genre tags here and on RYM. And wasn't Geordie Greep the main person in Black Midi? Can't be that much of a different genre...
But I'll shut up now. Got better things to do than comment about music I hate. Maybe one day I'll see what you all see in it.

I feel like people that were hating on The National (who I like) when they got big. Everybody is shitting themselves over Cameron Winter's vocals but they're so whatever to me. I can't imagine being impressed by anything I've heard from him. Incredibly boring lyrics too. Oh well, not for me I guess.

His vocals border on being grating at times. He has a great voice but for some reason seems to feel the need to fill every second with a belt instead of letting the music breathe. He needs to reign himself in at times in my opinion and it would make for a better listening experience. I like everything else about this album though so I don't mind too much. Geordie Greep on the othe rhand has the most annoying vocals I've ever heard. Actual garbage
