It's a good album

It just has a sever lack of banger city

They're definitely leaning harder into chill laying at the beach with the briny air filling your lungs kinda vibe

Nowhere near as bad as people are making it out to be

So that also makes me stupid m/m/m/

The track flow and transitions on this really help - was worried I could end up dropping it to a 3 but it’s a smooth listen.

halfway through and i feel like turnstile's hooks took a backseat here which is weird when it sounds like it was meant to be more hooky

i think this is still fairly solid but i'm not feeling it as hard as their previous 2

I'm morbidly curious to see how this can possibly have 'less riffs' than Glow On because that doesn't seem feasible

Listening to ‘Big Smile’ and ‘Generator’ off ‘Time and Space’ and they’ve compromised groove quite a bit by this stage

‘Can’t Get Away’ is so good.

tbh this would be better if the hooks were stronger

This band were right to sell out, but also if they went ‘back to their roots’ at some stage and did a rawer album I wouldn’t complain.

Haven't heard this one yet, but "selling out" is such an asinine slop of non-criticism when it comes to this band.

it's funny tho because "Turnstile" + "never enough"

Album flows really well and I don't mind the synthier parts one bit. They did play it real safe with this one though and it essentially presents itself as Glow On pt 2. Solid but nothing remarkable, "I Care" is the real standout here imo.

yeah i kinda dislike using the term "sellout" with these guys. feel like the alt rock slant was plenty apparent and being considered a "feature / not a bug" as far back as nonstop feeling and that they've always been far more image conscious than the average hardcore band.

am i really shocked the band who made "blue by you" 10 years ago is making songs like "i care" today? not really

the second sentence of the pinned nonstop feeling review: "It’s impossible to hear the singer’s aggressive yells and not catch the Zach De La Rocha worship."

Just got tickets to see them with Speed in Philly. I know experiencing these songs live is going to make them hit a lot harder.

I still can't believe I did my first 15 years of shows/raves with no ear plugs

mad lad!

to be fair I was similarly stupid in my earlier years with regards to war protection. Seems so obvious now!
