New Behemoth isn't as bad as I thought it would be but still not good.

sputnik has the opportunity to do the funniest thing with the ratings chart we just need more 1.5's and 3's

that lil math rock section in Gethsemane was cool as shit. they should do that like all the time

tbh i think the most baffling creative choice was that "we have polyphia at home" ass math-rock section in gethesmane, but it's simultaneously the boldest section on the album i'm just so bored of that type of guitar playing these days

I mean I feel like that kind of just is this band in a nutshell. We have ____ at home. Whatever thing it is they’re throwing at the board, djent, blackgaze, math rock, metalcore, the only thing I feel like this band actually has going for them is they’re a capable rise records style popcore band and that’s just kind of the glue that holds all the other bullshit together

not an unfair description actually, i think as much as part of me wants to start torching this stuff for not excelling at all their creative ambitions there's simultaneously a part of me glad music this ambitious is getting this successful, it's like how A Thousand Suns was a CRAZY leap in experimentation for a mainstream rock band in 2010 so part of me still wants to root for Sleep Token no matter how underwhelmed i am. it's an "i'll take what i can get" type of situation.

One of my proudest accomplishments is that spotify has never suggested this band to me

"it's like how A Thousand Suns was a CRAZY leap in experimentation for a mainstream rock band in 2010"

That album sucked too. They also had the advantage of a vocalist on a different plane of talent entirely
