does this bother anyone else? i def get that feeling with a lot of metal bands, but for whatever reason it doesn't rly bother me with Veilburner. not yet, at least

ruined both albums for me personally but i don't rly give a shit that they weren't played by a human. with the sample replacement, quantization, gating etc that goes on in so many modern metal records they may as well be programmed. just don't think it suits this style and i don't think they did enough to make the drums sound less fake. convulsing from last yr is how you do good programmed drums

Catch-33 and Streetcleaner taught me that drum machines have purpose and aren't always a net negative. Shit...I wouldn't be able to create any music if I couldn't rely on programmed drums or midis to practice and record with.
