I don't think many people are saying you can't separate art from artist as there are far worse individuals in groups that myself and many others are fans of. The people defending MM's actions is where the problem lies.

As far as where I stand, I'm generally more okay with listening to problematic artists if they are not financially benefiting, so no streaming for me, I gotta find it another way so they don't earn a dime off my choice

This is such a brainlet take. There is no separating the art from the artist in almost any case, but there especially isn't when it comes to someone who writes from an autobiographical point of view. Considering a huge portion of this album is dedicated to him bitching about how actually he's the victim, pretty impossible to treat the art as some entity separate from him.

If you can't separate art from artist then why do you still have Brand New albums 5'd and high ratings for As I Lay Dying albums as well? That's such a hypocritical statement to make! I am no way defending MM but you can like the music without liking him. Even if the lyrical content is what it is, you can tune that out while enjoying everything else. Not a fan of his music anyway though so it's pretty easy to avoid for me, personally.

The right wing love alleged rapists and abusers as long as it's only alleged. Manson dated Evan Rachel Wood when she'd barely turned 18 and he was 36, and tht's the least of his problems. It's why they also love Trump (a good friend of Epstein and proven abuser in civil court), Matt Gaetz (currently under investigation for sex trafficking), etc. Sexual abuse is a-ok as long as it can't be proven in court and that's why grifters move to the right once they've been found out, like Manson has. And since sexual abuse is notoriously difficult to get proved in court, that's why accusers would rather go public straight away than take legal action.
