Are they only playing this album on the tour or are they doing other stuff as well?

Real talk this is a near perfect if not perfect album pretty innovative to. Gunna go down as a classic in the genre and will deff be death metal album of the year. The praise this is getting like everywhere is off the fucking charts. And..... It's actually deserved

@dmax they played this + obliquity encore last night but it was a one off album release show so not sure if that’ll change with the actual tour

1st spin left me pretty uncertain about this. Contrary to what many said this def feels like their least immediate output imho. Gonna take more spins to figure this one out. This could be a very good thing actually, since many of my fav albums started by leaving me like this and I like when my mind can't grasp something easily.
This is a complex record and it requires your full attention. Related stuff that came to my mind while giving this a go: Pink Floyd, prog rock, krautrock, Stranger Things, Morbid Angel, Nile, Death, Immolation, Incantation, Demilich...
PS: I'm on the second spin and I'm starting to lean towards "this is a masterpiece" territory already

i really like it but i also agree that the proggy bits feel stapled into random parts. when the death metal parts come back it feels like "hey were still a dm band so here it is"
they also reused a few old riffs it feels.

I'm not sure yet but the goofy transitions fit into their character somehow haha. Some parts here feel like Pink Floyd going death metal and I'm all in for that. This record has tripping written all over it.

I’m a sucker for prog, atmosphere, synths, concept albums, sci-fi, pretentiousness, etc. Gimme all dat.

This is definitely their least immediate save for tab 1 of the message. That song should win over any naysayers. It just keeps expanding and growing with each listen.

The climax of riffs in the stargate obviously pulls from heaven and weak by maudlin of the well and Im so here for that

They nailed it on this one, I wasn't sure if I wanted them to get proggier or more Death Metal but I'm pleasantly surprised by this proggy approach

This makes tomb molds the enduring spirit look like childs play prog approach wise. I'm still not overly found of that one. These guys pulled it off way more natural imo. It doesn't sound like a death metal band trying to sound like a prog band like it did with the tomb mold to me it just sounds again more natural and blended

I love that Tomb Mold album but I tend to agree with that. The extended ambient bits here are also fan-fucking-tastic.
|

This definitely sounds like a death metal band trying to be a prog band lol

Blood Incantation writing a melodic post hardcore esque intro wasn't on my 2024 bingo card, but Message Tablet I showed me otherwise. So many cool different blends of styles on here and these guys nail every one. Amazing band.
