Doof, I agree 100%
But it doesn't bother me... not too hard to just skim past the non-constructive criticism...

Guess I should jam this lmao. Loved their debut but haven't heard anything else.

Calling this album and band mediocre is kinda weird to me. They have a very distinct sound and incredible production. It’s just a bit tried at this point and there are some clear sticking points (lyrics, vocals, monotony)

Guess I listen to Glass Animals and try to see what it has in common with this.
EDIT: ok 2 minutes and it sounds the polar opposite to this.

think it's my third most played new 2024 album already, the stats don't lie
things are going to get real from mid August to September though...
The The, Nick Cave, Tindersticks, MJ Lenderman, 40 Watt Sun, Fontaines DC, Gillian Welch - loads of potentially good stuff on top of that lot too
|
| |
Have been listening to a lot of Nick Cave recently, still can’t stomach Ghosteen.

I haven't returned to Ghosteen really, I respect it more for being virgin territory for the bloke and for the overall atmosphere - sort of the flip of 'Skeleton Tree'
Today's Wand album is a goodie btw, worth a listen

Oh gotta check that Wand after loving the Cory Hanson last year.

It’s quite different, out goes the ‘country’ and in comes the Radiohead ‘ok computer’ and Talk Talk ‘Laughing Stock’ sound palette…delivered as psych rock.
He’s quite the talent.
