i dont really think theres much here theyve done better before, just bc theres not much stuff here they've done before in general. wave is the only track to me that feels like an explicitly less good version of an already existing erra song since it is house of glass 2 electric boogaloo (but its also written well enough that its an ez highlight regardless)



nor do i really think any of the other braunstein crew is better than this atm. would easily take this over heavener, eternal blue, superbloom, etc. rumor is the only one where im like "alright guys this just sounds like everyone else". that song is def the biggest moment where i can fully sympathize with the dissenters because it is hella lame to me lol



i do think they could prob do a better job at this sound in the future tho. usually they dont get everything right the first try post big garry. that's part of why self titled is so fully realized i think is they really maxed out the potential of all the sounds they were exploring at that point

yeah hitting this again and the only reason it isnt still a 4.5 is rumor. im surprised that one has grown off me so much since i was alright with it when this dropped but i have a really hard time making it to the end of that song and 9/10 times i turn this off early its because of that bland color decay ass pre chorus

last night was probably the best time ive seen them. the run from eye of god into scorpion hymn into wish/glimpse into white noise into blue reverie is as good as it gets. if pale iris was not played (it is also boring live to me lol rip) that run of goatedness would also be sustained by mf dementia, snowblood and the best version of skyline ive ever heard. love the boys

yeah they picked an awful bill lol. it was bad choices for them too honestly i caught part of make them suffers set and a ton of the crowd just completely dipped so the crossover is barely even there anymore fan wise



jesse sounded phenomenal i was really impressed. i can also tell that the higher stuff is easier for him than the lower stuff bc the low stuff is good but a little iffy sometimes but the high stuff is absolutely rock solid nowadays
