'And Birth of Violence just wasn’t as good as Grime, Apokalypsis, or even Unknown Rooms to me at least.'

it was better than hiss spun though, comfortably

Hiss Spun absolutely rips. I think Pain is Beauty - Abyss - Hiss Spun is a helluva trilogy that I love fairly equally

This and Abyss are her best by a wide margin BUT I need to relisten to Pain

Pain is my personal favourite of her, but I cannot put it above Abyss, Abyss is so so so good. It might be too early to tell but this new album is really close to those levels.

Abyss is my personal favorite, followed by PiB and BoV. Thus far, this isn’t sinking in just yet, but I have to to give it more listens. I am partial to her folk work, so the lack of that on this album is disappointing.

That said, Place in the Sun is immense and Dusk has that folk-tinge to keep me coming back.

PiB is quite a journey, 1st half is rather different from the 2nd. I used to love the front better, but now I'm for the back. The run from "Sick" to "They'll Clap..." is flawless, breathtaking.

For now, I don't see how this new one will get ahead of the PiB-Abyss-Hiss trilogy, but this may change with time.

The Waves Have Come is her defining song for me. It's absolutely brilliant.

I laughed so hard when it made a brief appearance on an episode of Catfish tho lmao

Songwriting here is far stronger than on Abyss, so much more focused and fleshed out
