'For the second time in a row, I'm picking early '90s Voivod - especially Angel Rat - vibes from this band.'

You're not alone in that, brotha. Engrossing space rock vibes galore.

But .5(s) are for cowards.

Own it.

I might just get over that I think Enter the Loop is kinda shit and just 5 this anyways. No cowards in Valhalla and who doesn't wanna bash in skulls and get drunk with the boys over and over for eternity amirite...?

This is excellent stuff but it took a few listens. Surprisingly tho, I don’t feel the length of this album. First thing I noticed when sitting down to listen is it’s long af, and I typically don’t enjoy longer albums, but this one is doing enough for me that I don’t rly notice it. There’s definitely some meandering but I usually find it enjoyable, even when they’re reallllllly milking a riff for a long time, it’s usually a fun riff. Weaver’s Weft, Words, and Uruk are my early favourites.

Also idk if you mention this in your review but these guys sound a lot like Killing Joke at times, which is cool

I didn't Gyro but I can see what you say in the way they project the vocals and the effect they use on them.

On first listen I still like Ummon better, but I need to give this one more spins. The fact that they can put out two albums of this magnitude in a row is amazing.

Gave it one last spin before rating and now Uruk clicked too. My first 5 in a year and a half goddamn this is so good. All killer up until Enter the Loop, which I can appreciate enough as a cooling down to still warrant the perfect score. Magnificent record.

yeah Enter the Loop is roughly 5 minutes whereas the other 75 minutes are so fucking killer that I can just ignore it. It's not even bad either, just rather meh.
