I actually like this a bit too, but the cheese/cringe levels are rising with each release lol.

funny enough i feel like theyve been dialing the cringe back since mortal coil lol, which is cringe polaris in full gear. this is the first time ive ever liked an album of theirs more or less front to back

I feel the exact opposite lol

The more I listen to The Mortal Coil the more I love it. Lucid is their best song imo

lucid is very by the numbers to me lol. consume is like the only song that stands out to me on that album, and parasites does like the same thing and blows it out of the water so i dont even come back to that anymore

i used to have a hybrid mortal coil/death of me that i made flow pretty okay but that was more leaned in death of me's favor, subbing its handful of mind numbingly generic tracks for consume / frailty / somnus / dusk. still dont think that was as good as this tho

I just kinda feel mortal coil more emotionally idk, something about atmospheric leads and like "emo" vocals that a lot of these bands have

The lyrics/choruses on this one are rough at times. I'm sure it's been said but Nightmares... holy shit that's a cringey ass vanilla metalcore chorus.

yeah that hook is unforgivable lol. just barely ahead of being masochist tier. embodies everything wrong with contemporary core hooks

i dig nightmares. went off live with the crowd singing along. Everything this band does is solid. no complaints from little old me

i don't hear anything wrong with that chorus. it's earwormy, catchy, maybe not reinventing the wheel, but serves the purpose

I went back to Dichotomy and honestly, other than In Memoria Di, wasn't a fan of much on it.

can't tell if i'm just a low-standards plebeian or if y'all are just immune to earworms because that hook's fun

to be honest I did not like it at first but it has grown on me and its one of my fav's now on the album. With Regards still the best hook.
