I love how they stole that riff on the title track, from the Mogwai track "Summer" off of Young Team

I like SOAD, but I have never understood why this album gets so much attention. IMO this is at the bottom of their discog, quality-wise, with Steal This Album!
Mostly average and almost annoying, even for SOAD. But Science, Aerials and Toxicity save this from a 2.0.

Mezmerize and Hypnotize are more annoying than Toxicity imo

If by all over this, you mean a little sperm swimming around in a sea of Daren's guitar... Then sure!

Lol. Well, it at least has very prominent parts in Prison Song, Science and Psycho for sure. I haven't listened to this in a while.

You should refresh your memory, it's not a bad album. It's always fun to find the floating sperm too.

I think with their debut album SOAD raised the bar so damn high it may have been a challenge for them to surpass that peak with 'Toxicity'. This resulted in 'Toxicity' being a not-as-consistent album with a very neat balance of melody and madness, carefully swerved to and fro with Tankian's vocals. It isn't their best in my opinion, but 'Aerials' could be mistaken for a modern prog rock ballad.

Saw these guys last night in Boston with the Deftones. Was un-fucking-believeable. Forgot just how incredible of a band SOAD truly is, especially live. It's funny I didn't even realize I still knew the words to half of these songs until they played them live and I was screaming along with the other thousands. This album truly is a classic, it really perfectly captured the time and feeling when it came out perfectly and is still one of the most daring, bold, and awesomely political albums I've ever heard.
Had to re-five this when I realized the last time I had my ratings deleted I never re-rated SOAD's discog. Just one of the best metal albums of the last fifteen years for sure. And to see them play almost all of these songs live, wow man, was unreal.
Glowing fanboyism over.
