"I meannn, it's a mix of alt-R&B, post-metal, art pop, alt-metal, djent, and even trap at points. "Ascensionism" at points sounds like a Travis Scott song and I love how out there and wild it is. Even when it pulls back it's really good, "Are You Really OK" is one of the most gutwrenching things I've heard when focusing on the lyrics."

Y'all know I love ya but this album absolutely does not have that many genres going for it, and when those motifs ARE introduced, their presence is pretty muted/standard. The vocalist is definitely an issue when they put on the drama far too thick.



They're at their best when they go full vibe/Deft-core and the vocalist uses just their regular voice, I actually enjoyed those moments. Otherwise, it's far too clinical, prone to blending, and not crazy enough to justify its occasional excursions into 'experimental' waters.



Respect to those that like it but it's a dry well for me.

Well put Mars, that sums up my grievances nicely. I want to like this a hell of a lot more than I do. They really...what's the opposite of Burying the Lede? That's what they did by giving us The Summoning and Vore as singles. Outshone the rest of the album.



My YT front page is blowing up with mid-level metal reviewers, mouths agape in thumbnail images, saying this album made them burst into tears.



Let's just say that is....not congruous with my experience so far. But I've been proven wrong after being bummed by first listens before, so fingers crossed.

So much changes for me tbh with a frontman that doesn't pull a Jonny Craig and splatters his vocal chords everywhere in the most obnoxious manner possible.



It's strange, dude has a good voice but buries it underneath this grating, overdone R&B shtick.
