nice try Members Only still miles beyond this entire album, RIP to what would've been a masterpiece of an album if they followed that formula

members only is better than like 4 songs here at most lol (dose / disco / fur / maybe godhead)
its a good song but its nothing crazy. its not even the best of the non album singles. viscera >>>

as long as that "most" doesnt include death runner and lost creator
pls veil abandon the cleans forever and barrel down that path as far as it goes

Oh yeah, it's a total head-empty song but it whips. That breakdown at the end is so obnoxious in the best way lol

this album isn't bad, just wasn't what could've been. I know they've condemned where the album was heading because of the producer they were working with or whatever, but the direction the singles were going in were really good for them imo, they were doing something that is a little mainstream yeah but in their own style and it sounded really good and unique.

it does seem like they dont really know what band they want to be. though i dont think the 2020 sessions material is better than this, this certainly isn't like, focused by any means lol
if they threw the mainstream concerns out the window, fully embrace the rip, and drop an album of nonstop heaters with anywhere between 3-0 clean choruses i would be a very happy bubs
they won't but it was nice hearing some of their old personality rear its head

there's definitely some [ID] vibes in this album for how low and groovy it is, and that's great and all, but when Lukas came in he gave their sound a whole new dimension and when they wanna write melodic deathcore they're simply amazing at it and Lukas compliments that 100%. They've been scratching all the itches I wanted Protest the Hero to scratch when it comes to recent releases. I wanna see a renaissance of that era come back.

i j think his melody writings never been all that amazing. on matriarch its its best (mikasa and daenerys the winners there), and reconnect has my favorite hook of his since then, but otherwise, ehh

I didn't 5 Matriarch for no reason, I also don't dislike False Idol, but on this release I wanted to see a return to form and from the singles it sounded like they were gonna do that

Watching the rating for this slowly descend toward a flat 3 is disappointing.
