it's too strong as a whole to be considered front loaded for me, Carbon Dioxide/North/Tapping Fingers is an excellent run in the back half.
Ghost is underrated too (although kinda agree about bottom of the ocean)
Shiver/New Utensils/Kandy is the best stretch though, agreed.

bottom of the ocean is fine lol, it builds real nice and there’s a mallet kinda quality to the vocals because of those glottal stops, I like it a bunch

It builds what? It doesn't do anything.
I think Ghost is kind of underrated too lol, altho I get why some might not dig it

True, what does it build?
It’s almost entirely the same tonally, dynamically, volume wise and emotionally throughout. Some of the background sounds change a bit but not in a way that really changes the overall song in any significant way

I prefer Ghost to Even it out. I don't think the closer is essential but it's also fine, I don't feel like it's an issue for it to be there.

Looking For a Ghost wouldn’t be so bad if it was released on one of the first two knife albums but being on here makes it quite firmly one of the worst knife/fever Ray songs of all time. There is no excuse for that rinky-dink amateur bullshit this far into their career. Song is unbelievably bad.

"rinky-dink" gave me a laugh

I didn’t realize Ghost would end up so divisive. Doesn’t sound out of step with the rest of the album at all! Kandy is the current fixation, absolutely incredible production. I really love the way the vocals were captured this go ‘round.

got back from the first concert of the tour - lovely!
the stage design focal point was an old-looking lamp post, which was an elegant and simple touch.
it started off surprisingly sparse musically, considering the maximalist plunge tour, but things really grew midway (istg there's something about 'i'm not done' that just gets the crowd going completely nuts). overall a pretty balanced show in terms of the vibe, straddling somewhere between the last two tours. Plenty of sexual exuberance, but also a decent amount of restraint. Hell, they even did a really faithful rendition of 'Coconut' as the encore, in black robes and all.
Oh, and Karin was dressed as the character in the 'what they call us' video, at times they were just oozing masc office drone energy, which was fun.

What was the touring band line up like?

same percussionist as last time around, another who i didn't recognize on keys/misc. (electric flute, guitar, additional drumming) with a very cool glowing cloud as a hat. the backing vocalists were the same as last time as well, me thinks, starting out in office wear and stripping down to fetish wear and body suits.

Good stuff hamid, you must start making concert reviews.
