Oil is trash. Title track and tame impala ones are the closest this album gets to being listenable

not gonna bother making an actual tracklist because it doesn't deserve that much effort but i guess the "new gorillaz" tracks I would keep would be
1. Ascension
2. Strobelite
3. Saturnz Barz
4. Submission
5. Charger
6. Andromeda
7. She's My Collar
8. The Apprentice
9. Out of Body
10. Ticker Tape
11. Hollywood
12. Lake Zurich
13. Fire Flies
14. Souk Eye
15. The Lost Chord
16. Pac-Man
17. The Pink Phantom
18. Aries
19. Friday 14th
20. Dead Butterflies
21. Desole
22. Momentary Bliss
23. Opium
24. With love To An Ex
25. How Far?
26. Cracker Island I guess
27. New Gold I guess
The thing about Humanz is it has some really good songs but as an album its just a chore and doesn't work, can't really explain it but it just is not fun to listen to as an album. The Now, Now is more cohesive I guess but most of it is severely unmemorable and kind of has a "The Fall" vibe. Song Machine also has some really good songs but works better than Humanz because it was trying to be anything less than a collection of songs, and that really works in its favour. I wouldn't save much anything from this. Outside of title track and New Gold I guess I could see Silent Running, Baby Queen, and Skinny Ape growing on me. I hated the title track and New Gold at first and now i don't mind them. Some of the tracks I like from Song Machine and Humanz I also hated at first so I'll leave that possibility open.

actually I forgot again that Skinny Ape has that really shitty-ass hype part nvm

Humanz is one of those albums where I feel like I could make an alternate tracklisting where i just move things around, add in some bonus tracks, and remove some standard tracks and it would be like 200% better.

throwing it out into the discourse ether that I liked the closer on this as much as any of the other tracks - that is to say not an awful lot but, you know, enough

lmao. i appreciate how much effort you put into phrasing that optimistically

3. Saturnz Barz
4. Apprentice
5. She's My Collar
6. Submission

12. Out of Body
13. Hallelujah Money
14. Garage Palace
15. Let Me Out
16. Ticker Tape
flows from song to song really well, has a fun apocalypse party kinda feel to it, ends with a really nice tune instead of the worst song ever made etc

I thought Humanz had some decent cuts (Ascension goes pretty hard at certain moments) and same with The Now Now. Didn't get much out of Song Machine, but it was still alright. This is exceptionally bland.
