"tbqh I would totally condone Disney metal as a descriptor for Whoracle (which I also love)"
Was referring to their post 20th century material. I think of Whoracle as their most mature album.

This would be a 3.5 if Anders would stop the auto-tuned clean singing. The riffs are the best since A Sense of Purpose.

"mature"
what a stupid buzzword

There are actually a lot of really cool riffs here. Chris Broderick seems to have breathed some life into them

Whatever, dude.

I've seen this coming up here and there but it sounds like they had the record written before Chris Broderick joined:
From Anders regarding the album: “Björn and I write the bulk of the material – like the structures of the songs, the riffs and the lyrics – but Chris has been writing some solos. Björn and I feel so excited about this line-up; we’ve been touring for a while and we took all of that energy into the studio.”
That's not to say he had zero input, but the album was already written and Chris came in to lay down some solos based on a few accounts I've read online.

The riffs are definitely the most interesting since come clarity

I noticed a lot of people aren't too fond of the over-produced clean vocals, but for me it is the layering and studio magic that makes his clean singing tolerable on this.

I agree with that, but it doesn't necessarily make it good lmao

Cynosure chorus is honestly pretty strong for Anders

"this place is legit the most anti-IF community ive ever seen its hilarious"
nah bro, I was obsessed with IF back in 2000 when Clayman released, then I went and bought Colony and was just blown away, and then a couple month later, Reroute came out, and I wasn't that impressed, by it really wasn't that bad, there's some solid stuff there... But then Anders started dressing like Slipknot and jumping and clean singing like Jonathan Davis and ugh... that was embarrassing...
If you listen to The Tokyo Falldown, when Only For The Weak starts, you'll hear Anders cringely shouting "JUMP JUMP JUMP JUMP" that's when I knew IF was over for me.

I don't mind Anders honestly, I think he has a unique enough voice and he's improving every album. The vocal writing is usually pretty mid but idk I feel like he gets too much hate.

How is it cringe to have a good live song lol. Is it unmetal to make people jump?

Honestly very solid, good on them. I'm very much in the camp of not liking the clean vocals though. Past that, it's fun, it's got energy, it's a good album.
