A 3.5 is about right for this. Nothing mind blowing and somewhat generic at times but still a fun listen

Longtime IF and DT fan here: was excited for this but sounds just like a DT b-sides albums Will listen a couple of times, but I doubt I'll ever come back to this one in the future.
Also, a bit sad/weird, but in the Days of the Lost video Jesper doesn't even seems to know how to play the song at all !

It's well publicized that jesper has been struggling with alcoholism

Hate to say it, but someone like jesper might just need to not be around that rockstar life anymore. If you struggle with addiction, touring/playing shows can make it difficult to get sober

I keep coming back to Gateways. That lead in the chorus is pretty inspired.

I guess this is cooler than I anticipated, but who the hell produced this album why does it sound so flat

RE: Jesper - I got the impression from some of the band's posts that Jesper was really struggling, and while he was engaged and participatory when writing and recording the record, he was pretty much all set with the rest of it, including touring and engaging with the fans etc. He is clearly in trouble, and I for one am pulling for him to make some progress in righting the foundering ship of his life.

I will check my vinyl today after work to see if I can track down a production credit. Did they record this at Brandstrom's studio, I wonder?
Just remembered: Pretty sure I got a Bluray Making of documentary with my copy of the vinyl. Haven't watching it yet, obviously, but I am sure that would reveal all this stuff.

I found that it was produced by Oscar Nilsson at Crehate Studios

It seems like gothenburg/melodeath/metalcore bands the past decade or so are afraid to put out a record that isn't super polished/compressed. Nothing beats that 90s sound for the genre really but it would be impossible to replicate that sound without just acquiring a bunch of outdated tech to make it happen

Rooting for Jesper. Nice to hear some classic melodies again

Thanks for looking up the producer, I tried to find it on the interwebz and came up short
In any case, the album could've benefited greatly from a beefier production
btw I was very surprised to see Niclas was credited as lead guitar and Jesper rhythm, can't say I'm the biggest Niclas fan since I can't recall him contributing to anything and always seemed to be riding their coattails
