Nah this site gets a fair amount of traffic from non-users/lurkers as I understand it

'Damn, that's seems like a lot... but then I have absolutely no comparison points? Where can you see this data btw? (feel stupid rn - and almost all of the time tbh)'
where can you see the views a review has? its just under the reviewers name at the top of the first page

"I'm assuming all those views come from a few hundreds users who keep posting messages"
i usually assume this too, but this thread does feel disproportionately short compared to the views. it is a sign (that Gospel are huge and are gonna be signed by Roadrunner any day now!)

how on earth have I never noticed that before...
Has it always been there?

yes its always been there

damn, the things your eyes just somehow fail to see
I guess it doesn't really stand out / one may be inclined to unwilling divert their attention elsewhere, still feels odd to have never noticed though
another explanation would be that I previously noticed, shrugged and then subsequently forgot because stupid brain

anyway, I'm excited to see if this holds up but the early signs are very encouraging
I just slapped a 4/5 on it without thinking, yet I imagine it will continue to justify this score. Dialled back the intensity somewhat, proggier etc. definitely makes a ton of sense as a follow-up to Moon. In keeping with their legacy without resorting to lazy imitation. i.e. the pitfalls of many other comeback albums.

speaking of pitchfork im tryna review this at the moment and stumbled across this old review and i fucking hate it so much omg

pitchfork trotting out their usual lyrical-reduction-in-place-of-assertive-criticism on this of all bands feels like being at a standup show where no-one's awkward about the right point to laugh
Coughs review is a straight howler though, good find

Repeated listens made me appreciate this a bit less. It's a great album but it's nowhere near their debut. The keys end up being a bit too much for me tbh

thank fuck the download code finally came once the vinyl shipped, now I can listen to this on the go again
keys are the best part

Cuz I’m a loser. And sooner or later you know I’ll be dead.

keys are definitely the best part (of Gospel generally)

Album Rating: 3.5
wack take. i can understand that for this album even if i majorly disagree, but the blend of tones and group chemistry on moon far outgun the keys alone
not to mention the hecking drums
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
drums are the best part yeah, but also the keys
'group chemistry' isn't specific / individual enough to be the 'best part' Johnny and you know it
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
it's a reason why it's dumb to single out any individual 'best' part at all
and then there are further reasons why you're wrong to pick the keys if you've made that decision to begin with

someone woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning, lol
The fact I (partially) agree with you suggests that maaaaaaybe there's a chance you shouldn't take everything I say so seriously
The partially is because I don't think you should be disallowed from picking a fave aspect of something even if it ultimately isn't important compared to the bigger picture

when have i ever said you should be disallowed from being wrong? that would p much pull the plug on this site
