I always said Mikko is very underrated as a vocalist. I always frowned when someone called him replaceable or average. His vocals are still one of the most intense and twisted I've heard in black metal. The way they produced his voice along echoing whispers on most of DsO albums makes for an absolutely unforgettable experience.

On another note, I absolutely agree, he is a weirdo and makes art about stuff I consider degenerate (and I'm not just talking about his lolita fetishing projects, but of pornograpy itself), but I sincerely don't give a fuck about a finnish man basement fantasies.

That being said, the sensitive stuff that seems to get most people triggered is his fash affiliations and support of hardcore fash events. I can understand that turning people off and even preventing them from listening to DsO, but saying "lowvoting for politics is just a straw man weirdo apologists have been inventing" is a blatant lie. Some users gave this very low scores before the album was even released. Also since all the fash stuff started to arise some people changed their scores dramatically to feel good about themselves, that is a fact. Stating this is not equal to being an apologist of any kind. I stand by my sound-off affirmation: Scores are for the music, not for the things surrounding it. You have the forums to expresss yourselves and manifest your discontent but be honest about the music. DsO is my fav band ever and I 3d this because it's fucking bland imho. I don't want to listen to this ever again, it's not the genius band I once knew.

And after all this rant let me tell you all something. As I said in my sound-off, all the effort you put into showing how you won't support this band and unearthing it's vocalist's evil deeds. I hope you all put the same effort in your everyday actions, which whether you want to be conscious of them or not, affect the world in a way more detrimental manner in my honest opinion. Nazi hunting is cool, hollywood have been making movies about it for many years, but turn off the tv and see the real state of the current world, see the damages and unethical practices that are being done by the companies you buy from, the governments you vote for, the systems you are indebted with... Put that same effort on all of that and then come back and call me an apologist and fash (which I'm not by the way) while your rights are being taken, your food is getting worse, your jobs are getting dehumanized, your mental health gets more and more dependant on pills... Yeah, I'm pretty sure someday you will find a way to blame nazis of all that too.

i would imagine people who know about mikko being a fascist are pretty socially concious people that are well aware of the corruption and systemic issues brought with neoliberalism.

what the fuck is the point of these type of arguement? i listen to DsO, one of my first reviews was almost ten years ago about a massive split from a bunch of mikko's band, you can listen to shit for whatever reason you want, but to act like his musical input is not tainted by his personal affiliations is absolutely wild.

lol. stop apologizing for being a dso fan if you don't want people calling you a apologist. listen to whatever and enjoy, let the band speak for themselves no rando truely 'cares' what you think about them[just the same as you'd disregard those who're overly critical/dismissive of aspa/dso]. pretty sure 98% of dso's fanbase aren't fascist, 'we get it.' people rate shit on whatever merits they see fit, i'd also prefer something more articulate but whatever, ratings don't really matter.

thats exactly the point, i rate music for the music itself but to try to obfuscate things by acting like the people making the music is irrelevant is also disingenious, if anything one should always be open to understand why a genre of music that threads on some really heavy subjects can be off-puting, and not be irresponsible to act like its no big deal.

EXACTLY, I am proud being a fan and supporter of DSO from the very first stuff they made, because they are one of the best bands out there musical wise. Am I a NAZI? Am I alt-right...hell no, I am pretty much in the middle of everything political wise.

The world is complete shit anyways, at least DSO gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling while listening to their dissonant stuff.
