The opening song is very nice.

I think this is growing on me, although I can say with relative certainty that I'll always prefer GFIL.

I'm not huge on his falsetto either but it's magic on Spirit Boy's chorus

nahhhh the density sounds so lush and is why i love this as much as i do.
i think these songs breath plenty too. that's why the last chorus in unison is able to shine for example.

I'm all for maximalism so long as it's mixed well. Haven't run unto any glaring issues with this one but will wait and see when I give it a proper listen.

some call me a listener, but i prefer the term pinpointer. i live to serve.

My main issue is that I feel like nobody in the band really lets loose on this album
I kept waiting for a 'say yes to life' kinda shout to make me want to run through a wall, or a solo like on 'do not let your spirit wane' to heal my soul, and it just never came
doesn't mean this is a bad album, it's just not the classic that GFIL was

This feels really homogenous for the first 40 minutes or so, really missing the diversity GFIL had. But the final quarter is really incredible

I definitely think the last few songs are the peak yeah

Unfortunately I find most of the songs here kind of boring, until the last 3 songs which go hard. Go farther started as a 4 and eventually grew to a 5 for me though, so we'll see

I guess stuff like unison might be a bit too subtle for my tastes. I just really like big dynamics like on Go Farther in Lightness
