metal will always stand tall. m/ m/ m/

This is okay, about what I expected. Dated synths, arpeggios and phaser effects. Much more interesting ambient out there, but kudos to BI for trying something different.

on a somewhat serious note (if I may), the Pony is right
It's decent mind and conjures up their 'spacey atmospherics' vibe albeit in a totally different style, which I suppose is more 'on brand' than what this might get given credit for

On a completely serious note this sux it doesn't even skronk

This is really neat. Honestly I think this should’ve been one long song, makes more sense with how it flows

This was decent, I just wanted a little more from it. There were a couple cool/memorable synth parts, but I felt like this was mostly just background noise

So far the vocals are a 0/10
Riffs are also 0/10 but I'm not finished yet
Beep boops are 6/10 but they dont happen often enough

they sure are making this hard to check out for people who don't use paid streaming services.

Ok serious take here, even though I have been relentlessly making fun of this before it came out, I DID at least figure it would be more sci-fi-y and have even more weirder space noises that would be interesting.
I don't know fellas, this was TOO minimalistic for me, even with my garbage expectations. It felt like the opening credits of something and that was it.
And yeah, the riffs were also terrible.

Seems like the type of album which won’t set the world alight for fans of their previous albums but will most likely sit well within their eventual discography. This isn’t just a throwaway experiment, there’s genuine craft here.

I really enjoyed Celestite from WITTR, which is a record I think is largely ignored in their discog. Nobody looks back and says oh yeah they are great, except that super boring ambient album they made.

Yeah, don't get me wrong I'm still extremely pumped for their 4th album. Their first two are some of my favorites in recent death metal, so I'm still on board with the band, just NOT on board with this nothing, empty space of an album.

This will now be known as "Pulling a Loathe"

Io: Second Movement is where it’s at. Might be my fav release of the year so far

Yeah lotssss of empty space here. It’s like they had a canvas to make something cool but left 75% of it blank. Might drop my rating

"Imagine telling some ppl here they have lame taste for not liking a experimental ambient album that a death metal band made lol I mean if we were in the ambient section of Sputnik sure but I ain't trying to hear that shit here. I dont think it's a unpopular opinion"
this is an ambient album so this is the ambient section of sputnik
