The opening 180 seconds of "No Jesus, no Beast" have more going on and more energy than the whole new album. I can't see how this could be better than Failures...

Failures sounds so muddy compared to this. Production on here is so crisp and everything sounds like a well oiled machine.

@alkostach just relistened to No Jesus No Beast, and while the energy great, it’s literally exact same as most songs on the new album except new album has way better production lmao. You’re a good troll because it’s actually getting under my skin. Are you listening to the new album through a blackberry phone or something?

Like go listen to An Act of God and tell me we’re lacking energy here bro fucking LOL

My dear friend butt, I'm sorry that you're badly handling a casual conversation about music. I don't even mind that you call me a troll, that's even quite amusing taking into account, that you're so ferociously trying to put an album that's been released today above a proven classic.
If I'd judge albums solely on their production, then almost always newer would be better. I'm happy this ain't the way it works.
In twenty years I'll still bang my head like a madman to "No Jesus, no Beast". So far none of the new tracks make me do that even for a second. The closing 2 minutes of "The Devil I Know" are ominous, the acustic farts on the new album are sadly not. But feel free to feel intimidated by them. It's a personal thing after all.
Saying this is better than Failures is similar to saying that Firepower is better than Screaming for Vengeance because of "energy" or that The Sound of Perseverance is better than Leprosy because of production.
You might like it more, that's valid. But if the arguments are, that it's better because of production and energy, then it's not gonna last. World Painted Blood has shit loads of energy and aggression and incredible production but it can't even kiss Seasons of the Abyss ass. Feel free to argue, after all we're here to talk music and not kiss eachother's asses and agree about everything.

Man, you gotta admire me, that I was able to write all that shit while listening to World Painted Blood in the bathtub.
And writing all that shit on mobile ain't that easy!

Symbolic is better than Leprosy ::dab::
But Leprosy is second imo. That's their perfect straight up dm release, Symbolic is best tech death era.

tbh im cool admitting that a modern dm release by an old band probably aint gonna hit me as hard as the music they wrote when they were 23 but im still glad this exists
