I would pretty much recommend that anyone who likes indie music listen to at least a couple of the records from Sung Tongs through MPP

One of the wildest rating charts I’ve seen

Good album or whatnot

Album Rating: 3.5
Yeah? I think that’s more a reflection of generally lower activity around these parts lately, plus some lost faith in these guys in general despite the hype this got on RYM.
|
| |
Lower activity is def the reason, but it's surprising compared to the numbers on the rest of their discog
Super stellar album, keep returning to it throughout the year and it still delivers. 4/5

It definitely feels like the “indie” audience here has particularly shrunk in the last few years. Also an increased susceptibility to anti-hype. Even the new Beach House only has 200 ratings.

Damn I saw FF at Merriweather last week and all I got for the opener was the singer from the first track of their last album doing a solo guitar set. I mean she was decent but wtf.

weirdest opener i've ever had was when i saw symphony x. just a girl doing karaoke with some metal background music playing. was so surreal honestly especially seeing people headbang lol

excellent set these guys played. totally brought the house down with Purple Bottle, Unsolved Mysteries, and Strung with Everything. impressed with how well their vocal harmonies translate to a live setting
|
| |
Prester John is the best song I've ever heard by these guys.
