Do agree there's less cheese here, time will die gets a bit cheesy near the end. Going to jam this more in the coming days

oh c'mon there's gouda and roquefort all over this one folks.
"Are you listening to your heart?
What happens when it stops?"
Pls.

Also opening with Aftermath and then dropping Rituals was pure class.
There's nothing as impactful as that on this one.
"Closer" followed by "Drip" is an attempt but not even close.

but don't get me wrong! I still like it a lot (hence the 4)! But the more I hear it the more convinced I am I like "Time Will Die..." better.

"yh it's better and more refined and less cheesy"
agreed

this concentrates the cheese into the areas that actually benefit from them and leaves a much better aftertaste as a result
plus TWD doesn't have a single song aside from Rituals that can hold its own with the heavy cuts on here

definitely less musical cheese, idgaf if the lyrics contradict that because who knows what they are at this stage
I feel like this really picks up from Drip onwards, flows (almost?) immaculately, up until that point I was waiting for something, not sure what, but whatever it was wasn't happening
Only heard this twice, so we'll see what happens from here. I'm definitely impressed with the cohesion in the 2nd half, but there's maaaaaybe not a huge amount of standout moments thus far. Probably a grower, not a shower.

will this be their first well-produced album? Tune in tonight to find out...

Feeling a bit mixed on how this weaves in and out of heavy and soft songs with a flow that could be stronger.
Will let it sit, but it definitely falls short of Time Will Die

"NO BEN tell me now you cannot keep us waiting like this!!!!"

okay i support this statement and also you
ye Demon, your whole take was basically where I was at for my first couple of spins and then guess what happened
we should also be having serious conversations about why TWD is closer to the level of Cosmology than this. both probs equally qualified to be the third best Rolo Tomassi alb

There doesnt need to be longer songs on this album, it already feels REALLY satisfying as it is. Besides, there are two 6 minute tracks on the album, the opener reminds me a lot of A Flood of Light etc, it's just not 8 minutes. The closer to this album I think is one of the best things they've ever done.
