That setlist isn't looking so hot, hate to say it, but I'm going to pass on this current tour

yepp I really wanted to see them as kind of a bucket list crossoff but this set genuinely kinda sucks... maybe next time.///
wasn't too crazy about this album but im fine to sit through the new songs. ministry of lost souls tho????????????? And I love Count of Tuscany and Bridges in the Sky, but only 20 minutes of pre-2007 material in a 2 hour set?????????

I like the inclusion of Ministry, along with Bridges and Tuscany. No Sleeping Giant is a bit disappointing as far as the new songs are concerned. AVFTTOTW is a huge disappointment too. That song sounds like leftover material from Systematic Chaos, and even when the song breaks, it doesn't reach the highs as their other recent epics. Waste of 20 minutes of live set....

I really think they should go instrumental or just do LTE at this point. Looks like LaBrie is going full playback too, I wonder how long it will take until he retires.

The Portnoy reunion is coming though, just a matter of time. He attended the show in NYC the other night and even had a shoutout from James, his only nemesis. They will never decide to part ways with Mangini, but the class act that he is, I can see him stepping down eventually.

The Alien is one of the best songs they've done in a while, come back to it quite often.

Pretty good single. My fav since on the backs of angels

I miss the days when no one knew DT and I could get hammered at their concert in the front row for less than $20.

He probably won't for a while, considering he has a new solo album coming out this month

This goes hard. Fuck man I don't know what is going on because this might be their best album. The instrumentals are like billion dollar budget movie quality. Some of the best prog power metal I have ever heard.

I definitely wouldn't say it's their best (not even close for me), but it's my favorite since A Dramatic Turn of Events

I don't see how this is better than DoT tbh, because this a lot of notez with very little impact in my books. I like some songs, but stuff like the title track just lack any kind of songwriting

Sleeping Giant is for sure one of, if not my favorite DT songs and this is probably my favorite DT album. Just in my opinion this is their most coherent album and they don't stray from the theme for even a second. Every single bandmate goes fucking hard, and they've gone hard before but this time feels different. The guitar tone and style are some of the best I've heard in my entire life. James LaBrie is just elevated.

Oof, in my mind I confused sleeping giant with awaken the master. The former was one of the best here iirc, the latter is pretty lame

Though take it from sort of a non-Dream Theater fan even though I do listen to them from time to time. Die hards probably don't feel the same as I do about the band or this album.
