>Does the user have a ridiculously low rating system that makes it seems as if he didn't "enjoy listening to music as a hobbie" but rather enjoy to place himself as an authority that likes to do nothing but judge music and label everything as "inferior"?
thats not necessarily how it is

'Does the user mistake his opinion as facts?'
nah, no mistakes here
'Does the user mistake the music he doesn't like with "bad music"?'
of course not, plenty of music i don't like is still good, this is just bad.
'Does the user think something doesn't fit in a genre despite mainstream media, music scholars and snob music communities agreeing on it belonging to said genre?'
jesus getting into the 97% concensus argument here
'Does the user have a ridiculously low rating system that makes it seems as if he didn't "enjoy listening to music as a hobbie" but rather enjoy to place himself as an authority that likes to do nothing but judge music and label everything as "inferior"?'
eh it'll go up when i get to the things that actually are good. is everyone not their own authority when judging music? otherwise it'd be enslavement, ie you like dis or else
'Does the user treat some kind of music as pretentious yet ends up sounding more pretentious than anyone?'
guilty
'Does the user say to enjoy an specific kind of music yet shits on everything on it?'
hey i only listen to the best and brightest. just 'cuz everyone and their gmama come up with a technically deathy album doesn't mean it deserves to go to heaven. either that or ya'll are just easily amused
'well sonic my dear, it seems you might be right, he does seem to check everything on the list'
nah just one of them try again

Yeah but why have you chosen to start with things you dislike? When I joined it felt natural to go through my collection and rate the things I enjoy FIRST, not after I'd taken a few swipes at things I didn't. You're free to do that too of course, just seems like your priorities might be out of alignment from where I'm sitting.

i fully understand what you're saying, so i'll show my process here
despite listening to metal for the majority of my life it occurred to me one day that i have quite large gaps in my overall mental discography. the past couple of years i've been opening my self up and exploring many more things i wouldn't normally bother with, and thus i came up with the idea, why don't i just listen to everything from the ground up? so i renewed my spotify subscription and began integrating it into my daily habits. having lurked this website heavily about a decade ago and liking it's general system and features etc, i thought i would record my thoughts so i can look back
ground up means having to start with priest, maiden, the big 4, etc etc etc. unfortunately for those bands my general taste leans much more toward the fringes of extreme metal, and thus i tend to obliterate them unless i find something particularly spirited/well-done (and hence i tend to recommend covers of classic songs done by heavier bands). as a general rule i go through their entire discographies before moving on to the next, occasionally veering away when i get too bored.
in other words it's gonna take a while

nah, if you want 100% you basically want to:
have ur avg very close to 3.00
have ur spread very close to 1.00
go too low or too high and it decreases
strangely enough it will never go below 15% though

'why don't i just listen to everything from the ground up?'
So hang on, I'm a bit dense... you're re-listening to everything in the general metal spectrum/sphere/whatever but starting with the stuff you don't remember liking much? That's pretty cool actually. Never hurts to refresh your memory and perhaps gain new perspectives.
