This is probably the number one band on my list I have not seen yet am a HUGE fan of. As a big concert junkie, this is a giant blind spot for me, especially since their sets and stage prowess looks pretty incredible.

Def catch them if you can on their next tour, Feather. You will not be disappointed. Even though I wasn't that hyped over the Blood album, that tour was one of the best shows I saw them at, because they were unleashing deeper cuts, and b-sides at those shows.

I know ... I've watched many live sets. The only time I have had a good opportunity to see them, they were playing an amphitheater were opening up for 2 bigger bands (that I had no interest in) a couple years back. Definitely opted out and glad I did, they played a 6 song set of just run of the mill hits.
I wanna give this a 3.5 so bad, but just can't. I 100%ridiculous amount of singles killed the excitement around this release. It is better than Blood in my opinion, but they showed 7/11 tracks before dropping.

i'm excited for like 3 months from now when maybe that feeling of hearing most of the album before release goes away
Bright Black Heaven by Blaqk Audio had a similar issue where most of the album was known before release but I believe that was definitely not intentional since they had trouble releasing that. after that fact became irrelevant is when the whole thing really started to grow on me

also this band is definitely one of the best i'll ever see live.
I got a fucking AMAZING setlist my second time seeing them that included
Malleus Maleficarum
This Celluloid Dream
Rabbits Are Roadkill
Of Greetings and Goodbyes
The Lost Souls
6 to 8
Paper Airplanes
The Leaving Song
started with Strength Through Wounding too.
them playing Malleus left me in the most possible disbelief, it still doesn't feel like that was real

Man I am so envious. That was a high school jam and half for me. Also I completely agree with what you are saying about bright blaqk, I love that album and it just didn’t hit right at first because of the trickle in release of the whole thing.
Also I am currently listening through art of drowning and I forgot how short all their tracks for the most part used to be, wasn’t until STS when we came to expect massive tracks. Their early discography though despite being comprised of short tracks, felt larger than this short track release just because of the chaotic, fast, punk styling.

yeah, I had Lost Souls on earlier and it feels so full for what it is that it doesn't actually feel short

I had a chance to see then in 2017 and I still regret not going.

This is probably Jade's best production job on an afi record yet. Also, might be their most danceable record? Hunter's bass lines, man.

The band certainly slap live. I saw them once on a STS tour and twice on a DU tour. That STS gig was the best gig I've ever been to (not that I'm a massive live show guy, mind).

I saw AFI in like 2006 or whatever year Decemberunderground was and again in 2014 it was so amazing.

"wait a minute this may be boring"
Having this line on by far the worst track on this release was just a terrible idea.

I still don't love the chorus on Looking Tragic but I really like the verses and the breakdown.

Davey is a Christian. Fact. It's been clear ever since their famous song, God Came In To Work Today, Like Always.
