I agree, Jeremy's vocals sound good here. I think his style fits well with the theme of the EP

Great review but last paragraph should read “as it is”
Anyway, I think ZII is better than ZI, but also my music tastes have changed. I think it mostly boils down to more riff versatility and the fact that ZI’s cleans don’t speak to me like they used to. Even with Termination being the weakest song from both EP’s, the 4 other songs on ZII (especially Forlorn) are just so freaking sick. Love this so much, and am happy as my abysmal reaction to Termination weeks ago.

It's warmed up to a light 4 for me but I'd still take Zombie over this quite easily

"almost none of their albums are good or interesting at all in my opinion. But I don't like metalcore style vocals. are they still going on about Christianity in the lyrics, too? Lol"
No, they're not. As I understand most of them are not Christians anymore

Not super into this. Feels like it lacks the cinematic quality that conveyed the theme in the first EP and also lacks the hectic energy. None of the choruses stick out. Forlorn is an outright bad song, I never wanna hear TDWP doing riffs in drop G or whatever. Other than those qualms it's alright, maybe I'm putting it too harshly.

Given your hate for forlorn which everyone seems to love, the 3 is surprising. The lack of cinematic quality is very notable and was a big disappointment for everyone I think.

Sweet review my man
I've only jammed a few offhand tracks by TDWP in their early era and always kind of liked them. You definitely got me sold on this regardless. Will jam soon.

the vocals around 2:30-2:45 on Forlorn are really embarrassing but everything else slaps

What's up with these metalcore bands all losing their faith? I'm not complaining cuz a lot of early Underoath lyrics are cringe

all these metalcore bands started when the dudes were like 18 and lots of people outgrow their religions so basically that.

Okay I’ve got the wife stashed in a top secret location so I can now jam this loudly without risking my good time being ruined

Damn every song on this is good, termination being the weakest, but still a good track.
Forlorn is a fucking banger. The riff is just so good.

really i thought underoath were one of the only christian metal bands with believable conviction, the lyrics weren't that bad either, well on the first album ''Cries of the Past'' there's some great poetry on there but then again it was a totally different band back then. but how many underoath fans even know that album or listen to it

I read it in an interview with Mike. I'll have to find it. I know Mike still professes to be a Christian, but I'm not sure about the others.
There's only two original members anyways. I said "most" of them, not all of them
