I've heard their other albums a little but this seems to have the best tracks.

I think Raivo and perhaps Ote are among their best. Sorni Nai and Pirut are basically one-track records and both are brilliant. And Kaiho also has some gems (e.g. Kasvot, Lahja, Sateen Huuhtoma).

I still prefer Sorni Nai over this actually... I wish they had maybe expanded more on the concept via ambience. I don't feel like I'm a sea captain in the 19th century stuck in the arctic when I'm listening to this.

This thing takes a while to get interesting, which I found to be its biggest flaw on first listen. The first two tracks 10 or so minutes if I remember correctly are.. fine, but it's not till track 3 where i'm like okay this is doing something for me. This album is interesting because it feels like it just gets progressively better song after song. Still need to give it another few listens.

Also Sorni Nai is def my most listened record of '21 - thanks to this album.

Sorni Nai was incredible, same with Pirut, same with Kaiho, but for some reason this one just didn't hit the same on my first couple of listens

I believe in you. My list is a lot shorter this year than the last few years, but I just didn't spend nearly as much time listening to music as usual. Was nice to have a less daunting project though lol.

Most played record 2021 for me. Still impossible not to have the imagined story of Ice Fleet (never bothered to check the lyrics, Belovs voice and soft pronounciation of the finnish language are the only things I need regarding the lyrics) projected on the inside of my eyelids, and what a story it is! Up there with Pirut and Sorni Nai. It has stand the test of time and deserves a well earned 5 from me.
