‘Whatever it is...
it bothers me all the time’.
Yeah I like that one. Particularly as it feels fitting right now, unfortunately.

Goodbye For Good is hella atmospheric and underrated, Dymphna didn't really stand out for me though
The interplay of the voices on Sad Mezcalita is also tasty af

"this probably wont give you a great picture of their sound"
Fair play, there isn't really any one album that'll give you a great picture at this point.
Check Forget or Dear God I Hate Myself if you want poppier
Check Angel Guts if you were shockXiu
Check this or Knife Play if you want noisy baroque-pop with a bit of sound collage
|
| |
is knife play the best to start with?
|
| |
Forget is very awesome and I think I might like it more than this, but I'm stuck on a rating for either :/

Late to the party but A Promise is a baptism by fire

So far I’ve got this...
Knife Play > The Air Force / Angel Guts > A Promise > (Forget > this > Fabulous Muscles > Fruit).
This is a tentative ranking after A Promise and could do with revising. Haven’t heard the rest.

This definitely has it’s moments but I don’t care for significant chunks of the runtime. Weird that a band so divisive has managed to conjure up a few thoughts of ‘this is whatever’ here, a few of these cuts are struggling to move me in either direction.

This is like if Brand New got aids and downed a gallon of nyquil to see if they could play good. Not bad, but that being said if this were Brand New this would be their best record yet.
